Setting Up Website Visitor Tracking
Last updated: December 11, 2025
FINNY's Website Visitor Tracking feature lets you see which prospects are actively visiting your site — turning anonymous traffic into warm leads you can engage with directly.
Why Use Website Visitor Tracking?
Identify who is visiting your website in real-time.
Gain insights into prospect intent before outreach.
Build retargeting lists for personalized campaigns.
Prospects who have recently visited your site are often the most sales-ready leads. Prioritize them in your outreach.
How to Enable Website Visitor Tracking
Integrating the FINNY Website Pixel
The FINNY Website Pixel lets you track anonymous visitors to your website and turn them into actionable prospects inside your Website Visitors Tab. Once installed, you’ll be able to:
See who is visiting your website in real time.
Build retargeting lists based on website activity.
Launch campaigns to re-engage visitors.
Step 1: Get Your Pixel Code
Contact [email protected] to request your unique pixel code.
Copy the code snippet provided.
Step 2: Add the Pixel to Your Website
We recommend placing the pixel in the header of your landing page so it fires immediately for new visitors.
Note: When you add the pixel code to your website's header, it automatically applies to all pages across your site. You don’t need to add it to individual pages separately.
For even richer insights, add it to all pages across your website.
Follow your website provider’s official instructions to insert custom code:
WordPress → Add custom code in header/footer (WordPress Support)
Squarespace → Code Injection (Squarespace Help)
HubSpot CMS → Install tracking code (HubSpot KB)
Shopify → Add tracking code to your Shopify store (Shopify Help)
Webflow → Custom code embed (Embed Custom Code)
GoDaddy Websites + Marketing → Add custom code to your site (GoDaddy Help)
Custom HTML Site → Paste the pixel snippet before the closing </head> tag.
Step 3: Confirm Installation
After publishing changes, visit your website and check the Website Visitors Tab in FINNY.
If installed correctly, your own visit should appear within minutes.
The pixel only tracks visitors from the point of installation forward — it cannot capture historic website traffic. If you don’t see visitors immediately, check back in a few days as traffic accumulates.
Still not seeing it? Email [email protected] for verification.
Implementation usually takes less than 5 minutes and does not affect your website’s performance.
Viewing Website Visitors
Go to the Website Visitors tab in Finny.
You’ll see a list of prospects who have recently been on your site.
Each entry includes:
Visitor details (name, company, location if available)
The time of visit
Pages they engaged with
Acting on Website Visitors
Add to a List: Click the checkbox on the left → Add to List (e.g., “Website Visitors”).
Create Retargeting Campaigns: Use these lists in Define Audience when building campaigns.
Exclude Visitors: Remove uninterested or irrelevant visitors by clicking the ❌ icon.
Create a dedicated list like “Hot Visitors – Last 7 Days” to run weekly campaigns at your most engaged prospects.
Best Practices
Combine Website Visitor Tracking with Feeds for a complete view of prospect behavior.
Use recent visits as a strong personalization hook in your emails or LinkedIn messages.
Keep your tracking code up-to-date — if you refresh your website, confirm the script is still installed.
Troubleshooting
No visitors showing? Check that your tracking script is installed correctly on all site pages.
Low volume? Start with your most trafficked pages (homepage, pricing, contact) and expand as your campaigns scale.
✅ With Website Visitor Tracking enabled, you can instantly see which prospects are already interested — and convert them faster with targeted outreach.
